Alex Dawson is a Swedish underwater visual storyteller, photographer, cinematographer and technical diver specialising in hidden worlds beneath the surface — from deep shipwrecks, caves and flooded mines to polar waters, scientific expeditions and underwater cultural heritage.
Named Underwater Photographer of the Year 2024 and a two-time winner of UPY’s Wrecks category, his work combines exploration, history, conservation, technical diving and cinematic storytelling in places most people will never see themselves.
Beyond photography and film, Alex works as an expedition documentarian, judge, educator, speaker and media contributor, sharing stories from extreme underwater environments with audiences ranging from divers and photographers to broadcasters, brands, scientific teams, mainstream television and international corporate events.
